Qualifications/Requirements:
Master's Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field
Experience working with elementary-age children in an educational setting
Strong knowledge of behavior management principles and trauma-informed practices
Licensed Behavior Specialist preferred
Experience with Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)
Training in PBIS, Ukeru, Handle with Care or similar frameworks

Position Summary:
The Student Support Services Specialist provides social, emotional, behavioral and academic support to students in the district. This role works collaboratively with teachers, administrators, families, support staff and outside agencies to ensure that each student receives the assistance necessary to succeed in school. The specialist implements proactive and responsive interventions, supports school-wide programs, promotes positive student behavior, implements behavior intervention plans and improves outcomes for elementary students who may be struggling socially, emotionally, behaviorally or academically.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide direct services to students through individual, group or classroom-based support.
· Participate in and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings (BLT/ILT), including IEP's, 504 plans, evaluations and the MTSS processes.
· Develop, Implement and monitor behavior plans for individual students.
· Provide direct behavioral support to students through coaching, check-ins, small group sessions, or classroom interventions.
· Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAS) in collaboration with school psychologists and other specialists.
· Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement classroom-based behavior management strategies.
· Support the implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and school-wide initiatives.
· Collect and analyze behavioral data to monitor student progress and make data-informed recommendations.
· Serve as a liaison between school, families, and outside agencies
· Assist in crisis response and help mediate conflict resolution among students when needed.
Continued coordination of student needs with district administration, guidance counselor, and other student support services team members.
