Disability Resource Fair Saturday May 30 from 10am-4pm at PennWest Edinboro Pogue Student Center
Our high school guidance counselor, Miss Campbell, took these Wildcats from the junior class to Pennwest recently for a college fair of 70+ colleges, a campus tour and lunch in the dining hall. They were great representatives of Northwestern and they even ran into some awesome Northwestern alumni while visiting the campus!

On Friday, the middle school held a PSSA Kickoff Assembly. Mr. Nagle celebrated the growth students have made this year in ELA and math, followed by motivational words to apply that learning to the upcoming tests. Students then played different mini games and faced off in tug-o-war, where the teachers were victorious!

Today Northwestern High School students, Jordan, Kaleb, Olivia and Nevaeh, traveled to IU5 in Edinboro to discuss the impacts of social media's influence with PA Attorney General, Dave Sunday. Our students engaged in insightful dialogue and provided meaningful thoughts to the General. The information gathered today will help guide the formation of policies, practices and laws in Pennsylvania. Our school community should be very proud of the maturity and insight our students shared today. Great job Wildcats!

Northwestern High School Chemistry 2 students built an iodine clock last week. The “clock” required understanding chemical reaction rates, collision theory, and solution concentrations. In the pictures and video, you’ll see students preparing their solutions and attempting to simultaneously mix 12 different solutions in order to get the clock to “run” from 1 o’clock to 12 o’clock (the 12 o’clock solution did experience a color change, but it occurred after the video was stopped). Click the link for the video, https://youtu.be/17bhTY8yl5U.

Northwestern Elementary had a very special surprise visitor yesterday! A former Northwestern student, now a Chief in the United States Navy, Erika Smith, returned to speak with our elementary students. She and her fellow sailors were honored to receive the Christmas cards our students created with Mrs. Borland. It was a meaningful moment as she shared her experiences and appreciation to our students for their kindness and generosity. We are so proud to see one of our own serving our country and inspiring the next generation!
