The mission of the Foundation is to ensure the highest level of educational innovation supporting students, faculty and staff with community involvement within the Northwestern School District in Northwestern Pennsylvania.

Scholarship Opporunities

The Northwestern Community Educational Foundation acts as the custodian for several scholarships that are awarded each year to graduates and alumni. The group oversees the following scholarship funds. Interested students must complete the NCEF Combined Scholarship Application along with the Activities Attachment (see below)

• John Gillette Memorial Scholarship 

• Joyce Ann Mikovch Schanz Scholarship 

• Northwestern Community Educational Foundation Scholarship 

• Peter Mikovch and Helen Oleyar Mikovch Vocational Agriculture Scholarship Application 

• NEW for 2026-Class of 1974 Student-Athlete Excellence Award Scholarship

NW National Honor Society members offered a helping hand to the NCEF as they spruced up the Valley School.

Joe Askins from Auto Express Superstore is shown above in the Valley School with the Loving Giving Local Award.  The NCEF is honored to be a recipient of the award.

The NCEF, specifically the Valley School, received the Loving Giving Local Award sponsored by Auto Express Superstore and Jet-TV.  NCEF President, David Olson is pictured above with Joe Askins and Lou Baxter as he accepts the award.

Santa and Mrs. Claus made a special visit to the Valley School during the Sing-A-Long held on December 10th.
