The community chipped in again at the “Fill the Bus” event on Dec. 5.

A Northwestern bus was parked outside Albion Dollar General all morning, and students, faculty and staff were there collecting donations for the “Toys for Cats” toy drive.

Donators filled every seat in the bus with toys, food and clothing items, and more than $120 was collected to go directly toward the drive.

All the toys, food and clothing items collected during drive, along with games made by Clint Corder’s Wildcat Ventures students and frozen loaves of bread made by Julie Schmidt’s food and consumer science students is given back to families right here in Northwestern School District.

Distribution of the items to pre-established families will be from 4 to 7 p.m. this Friday, Dec. 18, and from 9 a.m. to noon this Saturday, Dec. 19, at the high school.
