The Albion community will come alive with art, as the Northwestern High School Art Club will hold its 11th annual weekend with the Arts April 29 through May 1.
“This event gets bigger each year,” said junior Cami Price, who is the Art Club secretary.
The weekend features all forms of art by students districtwide and the community.
There will be live music and theatrical performances, visual art displays, demonstrations, a classic car show, a rabies clinic and poetry readings.
Northwestern’s cream of the crop singing group, Forte, and the Guitar and Strings club will perform, Drama Club will presente “42nd Street Musical,” and food and consumer science students will sell homemade goodies.
Clubs and organizations throughout the distsrict will be showcased throughout the weekend, and local businesses and service organizations will be at the event.
“We provide art to the community. We provide a safe environment for creative thoughts and a good opportunity to help further interest in art,” Art Club member Heather Yochim said. “We create Weekend with the Arts so all students can display their art for the community, and we can get the community involved in art.”
