The Northwestern Drama Club will perform three showings of Agatha Christie’s “A Murder is Announced” this weekend.

Shows will be at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 29, and Saturday, Jan. 30, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 31, in the Northwestern High School auditorium.

"An announcement in the local paper states the time and place when a murder is to occur in Miss Blacklock's, played by Claudia Ogorkiewicz, Victorian house,” Drama Club Adviser Shannon Ordakowski said. “What follows is a classic Christie puzzle of mixed motives, concealed identities and a second death.”

Ordakowski said a determined inspector, played by Kyle Steinle, grimly follows the twists and turns, and Miss Marple, played by Bailey Dieter, is on hand to provide the final solution.

Other cast members include Gabi Porter, Mackenna Atkin, Zach Johnson, Makenna Stevens, Sara Pickens, Cheyanne Kirsch, Tristan Howells, Austin Ambrose and Eric Hagmaier.

Tickets are $4 for students and $5 for adults. All proceeds benefit future Drama Club shows. The club puts on five shows throughout the school year.
