Early Release of Students (Weather Conditions)

On certain days, based upon weather and road conditions throughout the district, the Northwestern School District may use an "early release."  During an early release, the middle and high school will dismiss at approximately 2:00, instead of the normal 2:20.  This is done in order to keep the busses on time for elementary dismissal.

We do not use the one call system, because, if the weather is bad, an early release will most likely not affect the elementary drop off times.  In other words, we do an early release to keep the elementary drop offs as close to on-time as possible, and to allow our drivers a little more time in order to keep all of our students and staff safe.
